Location: North of I-10 on Hwy. 359, Pattison Note: Reservations required
The Blue Barn Fun Farm is located approximately 35 miles west of Houston, near the town of Pattison. It is an actual working farm. What a great opportunity for families to get an up-close view of farm life and farm animals! You must make reservations in order to visit the farm, but when you do, a great two-hour tour awaits you and your group.
Unless you know people who have a farm or are from a farm yourself, you have probably never had the chance to milk a cow. They’ll let you try here! At the Blue Barn, your kids will have a chance to see real kids—baby goats—pet them, and feed them. There are other delightful baby animals like turtles, chicks, bunnies, calves, ducklings and deer to be petted. They can fish for catfish and crawfish (crayfish) as well.
Your family will enjoy the tractor-drawn hayride through the open pasture, the smell of grass and the fresh country air. Warning: if your kids are vegetarians or fond of Kermit and Bambi, they might not like the Blue Barn Fun Farm. Frogs as well as deer are raised here for meat. That’s just the way things are done in modern farming.
