Overview
The Kemah Boardwalk is a concept pioneered by Houston restaurant magnate Tilman Fertitta. He decided to bring together several of his restaurants in one place on the waterfront.
|
Since its opening, the Boardwalk has turned into much more than restaurants, but also a destination for family fun.
Located approximately 20 miles from downtown Houston, the Boardwalk features some outstanding restaurants: Landry’s Seafood House, Joe’s Crab Shack, the Cadillac Bar, and the Crab House.
There is also an Aquarium Restaurant similar to the one downtown complete with a 200,000-gallon aquarium, as well as a Salt Grass Steak House, Babin’s Seafood House, and The Flying Dutchman.
|
The fine dining of the Kemah Boardwalk is complemented by several fun attractions.
If you decide to spend an afternoon, don’t miss the Ferris Wheel, the Carousel, “Joe’s Boardwalk Beast” (a speedboat thrill ride), the Boardwalk Tower, or Pharaoh’s Fury.
The Boardwalk Beast has been described as feeling like a roller coaster on open water. Try your hand at the numerous midway games of skill and other entertainments.
There are also several specialty retail shops that your family will enjoy browsing through, such as Christmas in Kemah and the Toy Company.
