Location: Memorial Park
Houston‘s Bayou City Art Festival is a true art lover’s delight! You will be surrounded by lush trees, foliage, and picnic areas for this annual, juried, fine art event. Embrace all of your senses with a stress-free outdoor gallery brimming with 300 artists working in 19 artistic media. Along with the festive outdoor gallery are wine cafes, an interactive Creative Zone for kids, restaurants, Broadway in Houston’s Broadway Café, and a performing arts stagewith on-going multicultural musical and dance entertainment presented by the Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County. Meet the featured artist, Yoram Gal, whose painting, “The Houston Jig” virtually dances off the canvas. His zest for life comes through in his painting, and his “Joie-de-vivre!” way of looking at life may just be contagious!
He simply paints to have fun, to celebrate the decades he has received from God on earth in the most colorful, joyful, sensual, and intense way possible. It is impossible to look at his work and not feel all those emotions. A truly inspiring and uplifting experience for grownups and kids alike.
Come out and spend the day or the whole weekend soaking up the sights and sounds of this annual event and grab you some “Joie-de-vivre!” for yourself!
