Theatre District Day has become a highly anticipated annual event when every theatre swings wide its doors to offer a free sample of the upcoming performing arts season, encompassing opera, ballet, music and theatre. Enjoy backstage tours, ongoing live performances and displays as well as sneak previews of the upcoming arts season in all of the eight performance venues in downtown Houston’s 17-block Theatre District, including The Wortham Theatre Center, the Alley Theatre, Jones Hall, Aerial Theatre, the new Hobby Centre and the 130,000 square-foot Bayou Place Entertainment Complex.

There’s plenty of parking available and restaurants in and near the Theatre District make it possible to spend a day immersed in the fine arts.

With 12,948 seats for live performances, this is one opportunity for visitors to downtown to indulge their tastes in all the arts, all at no charge and every venue offering something for every age and every taste.
